As marchers moved curb-to-curb up First Avenue, the first Gay Pride Parade in Manhattan, New York, featured a blocks long pride flag cutting through the masses of people lining the streets in 1994, commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. The parade began with a mile-long, multicolored flag--symbolizing lesbian and gay pride--that was carried by hundreds of marchers.

The NYSE building was designated a National Historic Landmark, listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
